Most of the Elwood wrestlers’ wins would come by pinfall.

At 125 lbs., Michael Daake would advance by a Technical pin, then squeeze by Isaac Berquist of Southern Valley 5-4, but would lose in the championship match by being pinned by Toby Thompson of Looms/Bertrand in the third period.
Will Rahjes would also finish second after winning his first four matches by pin, but lose a close one to Justin Votja of Loomis/Bertrand 5-2.
Three Pirate wrestlers would take home the bronze, as Mitch Kubert, Hunter Ertz and Dillon Tiede would each place third in their respective weight classes.
The Pirate wrestling team will be in action again for the final time in 2009 on Dec. 19, as they will travel to Cambridge for their invitational. The invite is set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
