JOHNSON LAKE – Amidst the dreary conditions, the Elwood golf team was in action Tuesday morning as they hosted their annual Elwood Invite at Lakeside Country Club at Johnson Lake.
Thirteen different teams were on hand for the event, including fellow FKC rivals Overton and Loomis.
For Elwood, the Pirates were led by sophomore Jonathan Weber, as he finished in a tie for eighth place with an 88.
Weber was the only Pirate who finished amongst the top of the leader board, as Mitch Kubert and senior Will Rahjes were the next closest to Weber shooting a 107.
Rounding out the scoring for Elwood were Chris Lauby with a 110 and Grant Rahjes with a 133.
The Pirates finished in 11th position with a two round score of 406, finishing ahead of Eustis-Farnam and Wilcox-Hildreth.
The Overton Eagles were also on hand for the event, as they finished in ninth place overall with a score of 404.
Preston Meier led the charge for the Eagles as he finished in a tie for 15th position, shooting a 91 overall.
The individual winner of the Elwood Invite was Garrett Ring of Alma, shooting an impressive 76.
The Alma Cardinals were the team champion on Tuesday, finishing with a two round score of 328, 16 shots better than runner-up Franklin with a 344.
The Elwood golf squad is action again on April 13, when the Pirates are on the road for the Arapahoe Invite.
The Overton golf team will also be at the Arapahoe Invite, then will travel for a dual with the Dusters of Holdrege on April 15.
