Lady Makers out shine Stars

KEARNEY – After a mediocre start to the season, the Cozad Lady Haymakers golf team was back in Kearney on Tuesday, dueling it out with the Stars of Kearney Catholic.
Things seem to go in favor of the Makers that day, as Cozad defeated the Lady Stars handily, winning 214-235.
Jacqui Koch was the low scorer of the dual, shooting a nine-hole score of 48. Trinitee Weinmaster and Kearney Catholic’s Danielle Buschkoetter came in a close second, finishing in a tie with a 50.
Hannah Gilg was Cozad’s fourth varsity member on Tuesday, however she was the third highest scorer for the Haymakers, shooting a 57.
Ronelle Jackson rounded out the scoring for Cozad, ending with a 59.
The lady linksters will finish off the week traveling to North Platte on Friday for the North Platte Invitational.
Results will be in the Sept. 8 issue of the Clipper-Herald.
