Pony Express Capital of Nebraska

Known as the “Pony Express Capital of Nebraska,” Gothenburg boasts two Pony Express stations.

One is still located on its original site on the Lower 96 Ranch, four miles south of Gothenburg.

The second station was located on the Upper 96 Ranch, 24 miles west of the Lower 96 Ranch.

It was rebuilt in Gothenburg’s Ehmen Park, where it remains today and is a main attraction for over 27,000 tourists annual.
