Another attraction is the Swedish Crosses Cemetery, located two miles north and two miles west of the city.

The award-winning Sod house Museum was established in Gothenburg in 1988 with a full-scale replica of an authentic sod house similar to those used by early settlers of Central Nebraska, two barbed wire sculptures and a barn with artifacts and souvenirs.
Cultural activities include the Pony Expressionists Art Club, Gothenburg Community Playhouse, Sod House Stitchers Quilt Guild, and the Community Concert Association, which serves the entire county.
