Mac’s Creek Winery

1wineLexington is home to one winery, part of a growing industry in Nebraska. A winery visit provides a different viewpoint of Nebraska’s agriculture and a chance to slow down and savor the area’s landscape and atmosphere.

Lexington’s winery was established in 2000 by the McFarland family. Mac’s Creek Winery is a family-owned and operated vineyard planted along the banks of Spring Creek north of Lexington.

It is in the process doubling its acreage. Currently, it raises eight different types of grapes on the 12-acre vineyard to make its award-winning red and white wines.

In 2003 the McFarland’s opened a winery and gift shop where visitors enjoy tours and wine samplings. The family also hosts a variety of special events during the year revolving around wine, food and entertainment.

Winery hours are noon to 6 p. m. Thursday-Saturday and from 1 to 5 p. m. on Sundays. The winery is located one mile north of Lexington on Highway 21, then right on Road 757 and left at the winery entrance.

For more information call 308-324-0440 or email the winery at info@macscreekvineyards.com.
